Be Thankful for the Ride

"Anyone who imagines that bliss is normal is going to waste a lot of time running around shouting that he's been robbed. Most putts don't drop. Most beef is tough. Most children grow up to be just people. Most successful marriages require a high degree of mutual toleration. Most jobs are more often dull than otherwise. Life is like an old-time rail journey-delays, sidetracks, smoke, dust, cinders, and jolts, interspersed only occasionally by beautiful vistas and thrilling bursts of speed. The trick is to thank the Lord for letting you have the ride."

Sweet Thoughts Saturday

"I don't want to drive up to the pearly gates in a shiny sports car, wearing beautifully, tailored clothes, my hair expertly coiffed, and with long, perfectly manicured fingernails. I want to drive up in a station wagon that has mud on the wheels from taking kids to scout camp. I want to be there with grass stains on my shoes from mowing Sister Schenk's lawn. I want to be there with a smudge of peanut butter on my shirt from making sandwiches for a sick neighbor's children. I want to be there with a little dirt under my fingernails from helping to weed someone’s garden. I want to be there with children's sticky kisses on my cheeks and tears of a friend on my shoulder. I want the Lord to know I was really here and that I really lived."

It's Official!

According to the official Burner Blogger Poll....

we are having a monkey!

(Thanks alot!!!)

They say heartburn during your pregnancy means your child will be born with lots of hair. So with the heartburn I have been experiencing already, we may just have ourselves a little monkey! But it will be one stinkin' cute monkey!

Guess we'll find out for sure what we are having on April 13!

Secret Combinations

Isn't this guy the king of secret combinations?
Anyhoo, no secret combinations here. I just needed a great, cunning title to get you to read my blog for a... :::drumroll::: giveaway!
::A what?:: ::No way:: Yes way! And anybody can play!

Pay it Forward

1) The first 3 people to leave a comment on this post will receive a homemade gift from me sometime in the next month!

2) When and what you receive will be a surprise!

The catch? You must repost this on your blog and offer the same to the first 3 people who comment on your blog. Don't forget to post a picture of your homemade gift when you get it!

Nothing like bribery to get people to read your blog...

M-O-T-I-V-A-T-I-O-N

Does anybody have any I could borrow? Like right now, I should be getting ready for work but the thought of climbing upstairs with my stomach "rockin' and rolling" makes it a little hard for me to be motivated. Even though I would rather lay on the couch all day, I still have to continue on with life. So I came up with a new system. I use a countdown to help me with my motivation problem. So I say outloud to myself at 6am while my husband is getting ready for work, "I can do hard things. After counting to ten, I'll get out of bed and make lunch for Terrence." So I start my countdown and then I'll roll out of bed. Or recount. Again . And again. My husband just laughs but sometimes he'll count with me. I think he just thinks I've gone crazy.

So here I go. "I can do hard things. After counting to ten, I'll go get ready for work..." 10. 9. 8....

What do you use as a motivational tool?!

When Your Fat Pants Don't Fit

This morning I woke up and realized I dont fit into my pants very well anymore! Ever felt this way? I tried on every pants I owned and none of them fit very well.
It may be because of this this little "bicho"....

who will be with us on 9/9/09 ! And since I found out I am pregnant, I've only had three mental breakdowns....so yeah. I'm off to a great start!
P.S. Someone please tell me they felt like Baluga the Whale at 10 weeks...
(Now is the time where your duty as a friend/blog reader/complete stranger is to lie to make me feel better)

Grand-O Deal!

Hi Guys! Sorry I have disappeared for so long. We have had some exciting things happen but I'll blog about that soon. Until then, don't forget to get your free meal at Denny's tomorrow. Terbear and I are going to try to get there right at 6 a.m. to enjoy the oh-so-goodness of Dennys. I mean, who can resist a free breakfast?!

Evidence Of A Social Life

Exhibit A. The Marshall family - minus Bianca :(

Exhibit B. The Smith Family

We were invited over by the Marshall family to eat a yummy dinner made by Bianca (thanks Bianca - it was awesome!) and play games. The Smith family joined us in the fun - which made it all the better. Since we aren't in any of these pictures, you'll just have to take our word for it that they are our friends and not just images we found on Google. ::cough, cough::

And following a night with the Marshall and Smith family, we joined forces with the Craig family once again. Lali cooked an awesome meal of Fajitas (they were awesome!)I should have taken pictures of Matt and Terbear's Wii competition (which involved trying to beat each others scores for two hours). But of course, silly me, pictures were not on my mind at 12:45 a.m. Go figure. Here's the picture I did get, though.

Terbear will be such a good daddy one day! He just loves little Mia!
So thus ends my documented proof that the Burner family does have a social life.

(See, I told you so!)

The Burners Come to AZ

How to torture your husband
1. Tell him to buy Utah Jazz tickets and invite his family to come with.
2. Sit next to him during the game and talk about girl stuff
3. Take a picture while his team is losing
4. Ask to retake the picture because you didnt like the first one.
(proof of my torture in the picture above - just look at that face!!!!)
Colton was really good at torturing his family too.

And then we tortured each other. Two peas in a pod.

Jazz coaches crying over their loss....

Oh the excitement!
(L to R: Mom Burner, Dad Burner, Cord and Derek)

Thanks Burner family for coming all the way from Utah to stay with us for the weekend!
See you at Christmas!
